Erotic grappling is considered by some within the larger BDSM/Kink community to be a new and "edgy" addition to the SM toolbox. By way of contrast, many within the in the Leather world know that erotic grappling has been around for decades. Few, however, are aware that eroticized grappling (in the form of Greek wrestling) has been around for thousands of years and comprises the oldest identifiable SM scenes. The highly charged sexual nature of these activities, even when no overt sexual contact was occurring, was recognized by the ancients. Due to misconceptions regarding safety, mind set and the powerful nature of erotic grappling, this surprisingly flexible and accessible form of play is largely ignored today. Master Konrahd’s class will briefly address the history of combat sport-related grappling and will focus upon its different formsand the mechanisms & venues through which erotic atmosphere and energy exchange are achieved. He will also delve into the basic physiology, safety concerns, "special" grappling scenes (wherein sticks, ropes, scarves or other tools are used as assistors), and the relationship reaffirmation, power exchange and energy transfer which can occur in both same sex and mixed gender grappling based play.

He will also teach basic body mechanics, joint and leverage point manipulation, how to maintain the flow and energy engagement of a grappling scene, basic safe carotid and strangulation technique and kuatsu (resuscitation/revival), equipment and environmental concerns, safety concerns and aftercare. The class will include a demonstration bout between instructors, and if time is available audience participation will be an option. Those wishing to participate should wear loose fitting and sturdy clothing. This demonstration/seminar promises to be a lot of fun and will present a great deal of information for the attendees. While deceptively simple in appearance, canes, rods, switches, batons and other inflexible and semi-flexible striking tools have a vast range of precision uses and sensations which cannot easily be duplicated by other tools. With the exception of the bare hand they are perhaps the oldest punishment tools known to man, and they have a long and well publicized history. Canes themselves are often regarded as a more extreme tool of punishment which delivers a high degree of pain sensation. But while it is true that canes can be one of the more extreme tools in the SM toolbox, they also can be used to deliver surprisingly light and precise sensations as well as pressure point activations, abrasions and muscle leverages. In this class Master Konrahd will provide a historical over view of the social use of the cane and rod and then, using martial arts, sports science and eastern and western physiology as the foundation, he will move on to body mechanics for swing development, proper targeting, the various sorts of blows, the tools which can be used to deliver them, and the unique properties and care of those various tools. The class will end with a section on more esoteric uses for the cane, including pressure point activation and leverage based pain compliance techniques.
